I was just setting up an account for my colleague who will run our Melbourne operation and the system automatically 'deemed' the currency as THB as we are located in Thailand. We did this 3x times and the same result. We obviously want his home currency AUD$. Sure he can set it all up when he gets back there next week, but this isn't an advantage having the currency detected by IP address. What about those that use VPNs?
