Moving part of an expense to a different business

Morning!

I have 2 businesses set up in Wave. There's a bill paid by one but a portion of it needs to be paid by the other.

What's the best way to "move" some of the payment from one set of Wave books to the other?

Different businesses in Wave are treated as completely separate entities, so bills and their payments can't be "linked" to each-other. What I recommend doing here would be to create a second bill in your other business, and edit the amounts of each bill so that they correspond to the payment that has been, or will be made by each business.

E.g. Bill A's total is $100, so it's split into Bill A with a total of $70 in one business, and Bill B, with a total of $30, in the other business.

Then, once paid, you can categorise the payment transactions in each business to "Payment sent for a Bill in Wave > Bill #..."!
