Help! Need to change an account

I use Wave for my business and personal accounting. We tried to add my wife's business and personal accounting too. Unfortunately, the setup defaulted to making her personal account a business account, so the COA is completely wrong for tracking for EOY taxes. How do we fix or change this? The system only lets me create a new business, not a new personal account.

    Hi @wdburt_97062!

    As it turns out, it's not currently possible to add multiple Personal profiles in Wave, only business profiles. In this case, you have two options:

    1. Edit the Chart of Accounts (COA) in one of the new business profiles, so that it is better set up for personal accounting. This article details how to add accounts to your COA.
    2. As your wife also has a business, she could create a separate Wave account. This would create both a business and personal profile by default, which means you don't need to spend time editing the COA to adjust it for personal accounting!
