How would you categorize funds sent to an investment account?

How would you categorize funds sent to an investment account such as Questrade or any other brokerage firm?

Hey @Znat , this would depend on quite a few different things that I'm not sure I can advise on. My head goes to creating a separate account in Wave to track these funds, but as I'm not super familiar with how a company like Questrade works, I'm also not sure that you have visibility into exactly what's happening to your funds or if it's being invested by someone else. (and all you're seeing is what your gains are). For all of these reasons, I'd recommend reaching out to a CPA or an accountant who should be able to help you advise on how the transfer of funds should look as well as how gains are also accounted for.
