Transactions "save" option

I unintentionally clicked the "save" option within the Transactions page. Immediately after clicking "save", the transaction disappeared. Where is it now? What does "save" do?

    I had this happen when I was entering information for a past transaction. It automatically and immediately files itself according to date, even if not all the data is entered. It threw me off at first.
