I'm afraid that this functionality isn't supported in Wave. However, as a workaround, you can draft a default message that you can then save as a Google doc to copy and paste when needed.
I agree with Alida.. I have to change the auto message on every receipt sent to customers.
Cut and paste is an option but seriously... If we can design our own invoices, create our own items and make categories, why can't we edit the wording on the receipts?
I don't mean to sound ungrateful but your wording is not the way I talk to customers and the process of Delete/Open document/Cut/Paste is not efficient.

Wow.. 4 months pass and still no comments from Wave on this issue. And you want me to transition to a paid subscription?
