Digital Currency and Bitcoin

I'm not an accountant just wondering how to record bitcoin transactions? I've purchased some bitcoin to pay for a service. It may be a reoccurring service so I need to figure this out. Not really sure what category it would go in the chart of accounts or transaction category. Thanks for your help.
