Can I delete bank accounts that have been duplicated?

In particular this relates to PayPal - it seems that the connection is one-time only when importing transactions and I get asked to create a new account each time. I now have four for the same PP account. Can I delete them without losing the transactions? Most get re-categorised anyway when I reconcile.
