Hi there Wave Support. How do I remove the duplicate Paypal account I accidentally added, please?

    Hi @Nicolato.

You'll be able to do this from the integrations page. You can find Integrations at the bottom of the menu on the left-hand side when you are logged on to Wave.

You'll be able to manage your PayPal connections from that page. Note that removing the connection won't remove transactions that have already been uploaded, so you might have to clean up your Transactions page manually.

    I also had this problem!

Waveapps has been a huge hassle, and it is not clear from the "linked" accounts page. I'm pretty disappointed about this.

    Hi @adam,

We are working on making all of our integrations better and are aware of the limitations of PayPal's integration with Wave. I absolutely understand how it can be frustrating.

If you have another specific issue with the integration, or if my last suggestion didn't help, let me know. I'm more than happy to lend a hand.

Hey, I'm also having MASSIVE problems with duplicated PayPal accounts. Transactions are now split between accounts and so I am not able to reconcile the accounts, or deliver the audit in time for our AGM. Is there a way I can get specialised help here please?

    Hi @Tanya!

Due to a particular quirk with the existing Paypal integration, disconnecting and reconnecting the account at any time will result in a new Palpal category getting added to your CoA. A duplicate account. You'd have to then manually move all prior imports to the new account if you wanted to use it.

There isn't currently a way to merge these duplicate accounts, but I'll do my best to let you know how you can proceed with cleaning this up.

Head to Accounting and then to Chart of Accounts. Edit the duplicate accounts' names to distinguish between them so that you can better see what you're doing. Once this is done, go to your Transactions page and filter for each Account in order to figure out which is the active connection (the one with the most recent transactions).

You then will have two options for transferring all the information from the old account to the new one:

    1. You can filter your Transactions screen to view the old inactive account(s) and then move each transaction to the most recent, active connection.

    2. This option is what I'd recommend. You can instead filter by the unwanted account and then bulk delete all of the older transactions. You would then want to upload your transaction history as a CSV to the account you want to use. You can easily export a transaction CSV from Paypal.

If you choose to export a CSV from Paypal, you'll need to make a few edits. You will want to pare it down to three columns: Date, Description, Amount (where expenses will be shown with a negative sign and dates should be formatted as mm/dd/yyyy).

Here is a basic example of this format:

    01/01/2018, Description 1, -250
    01/02/2018, Description 2, 550.50
    01/02/2018, Description 3, -120.75

Once you have your history in, you can proceed with deleting the other accounts.
