Merging Transactions

I am trying to merge two identical transactions. One is an imported Receipt for $525 and the other is an Outgoing e-transfer to the same vendor for $526 (which includes the bank service charge of $1). Because the amounts don’t match, the system won’t allow me to merge the transactions. They are the same transactions. How do I avoid duplicating them?
