November 18th: Planned Database Maintenance
Hi Wavers!
On November 18th, we’ll be kicking off a planned upgrade to the Wave Accounting database. We'll update this forum post to let you know when maintenance has started, and when it has concluded.
In your account, this means that you’ll experience two brief periods when your data will be in read-only mode. When this happens, you’ll see a banner appear in your account, and you won’t be able to save. Your customers will still be able to make payments, and approved payrolls will still run normally.
This is a back-end update, so there won't be any changes to the software interface, or feature changes.
It's important that we complete this upgrade before we head into the busiest time of the year, and there are a few reasons that we’ve been planning for this infrastructure improvement:
- We want to be on the most up-to-date infrastructure possible
- We are re-indexing the data so we can provide faster responses
- We are doubling our physical machines, which means that we’ll get a performance boost in both reading and writing data
These improvements are critical to ensure that we keep Wave fast, reliable, and are able to provide further feature enhancements to you in the future.
