What's the difference between creating a bill vs creating an expense?

Depends on what you're trying to do. You can use an expense transaction to, like, keep track of your utility bills if you wanted, but you wouldn't get as much info saved on your wave account. If you make it a bill, you can keep track of vendors and so on. It's pretty much up to you in the end, but when it comes to accounting, more details is always better. I use bills for utilities, rent, and for buying assets. Receipts for gas and business lunches.
