Your dashboard shows you an exact number of your balances brought in by your bank. However your transactions page allows you to manipulate transactions however you like. Although your account may import transactions into the transactions page, it can still be manipulated by journal transactions, invoices bills etc. This is why it's very important to reconcile your accounts often.
