Invoices: Allow customers to change quantities, recalculate, & pay what they want

I thought I had found a solution to my sliding scale payment problem, but foiled again by Wave Accounting!

Why does Wave allow for an invoice with all zero quantities, zero amount, to be sent, when there's nothing a customer can do with it? As a product manager by trade, I have to ask, "What is the use case for that?"

My non-profit makes extensive use of sliding scale and pay what you wish fees, which are a simple and ages old concept, but a nightmare in Wave, because everything is fixed and rigid, instead of variable and flexible. Please allow for customers to change quantities on invoices so that they can pick and choose what they want to pay for from a menu-like list of options.
