Credit Card fees higher than expected

I just had my second client pay with a credit card (not amex) and the fee was 6% not the stated fee.

Hey @cmfweb , I'm taking a look at your payments and I'm not seeing anything that looks out of place. All of them are being charged at 2.9% + 30 cents. Would you be able to provide me with the invoice # of this payment, along with the total amount and merchant fees that we took from you?
