Recording Credit Card Transactions WITHOUT a Transfer

Greetings,
For starters, I found this post very helpful (click here).
- I have a CC Account that has been synced with Wave since May 2020.
- I have a Checking Account that has been synced with Wave since June 2021.
- The Checking Account pays down the CC Account.
This is how I've handled credit card payments so far...
When Checking isn't there.
As an "Other Income" category that was then archived.
When BOTH accounts are there...BUT...in the past.
As "Transfer to bank, credit card, or loan".
When BOTH accounts are there...BUT...scheduled for the future.
As a "Journal Entry".
My questions:
- How do I handle the CC Payments at various times?
- Is there a better way?
