Recording Refund for a capital asset purchase

I made a purchase that was recorded as a capital asset account called 'furniture' which includes, you guessed it, furniture. I ended up having to return the purchase and getting a refund. What's the best way to categorize this so that my capital asset account reflects my actual value? I assume I shouldn't just categorize it as a refund for an expense. I want my actual asset account to reflect that the item is no longer in my possession.
