Client Invoice Numbers

Is there a way to use invoice numbers more than once? I would like to be able to have Invoice number 1,2,3 etc for each of my clients but right now it only lets me use those numbers once, regardless who the client is.

Each invoice should have a unique identifier, Rachael.

You could, for instance, have a alphanumeric for each of your customers, eg BFS17 - for your customer, Bradford Financial Services whom you picked up in 2017. Then your first Invoice could be numbered BFS17-001.
