Payments to my accounted recorded twice in transactions

Hi everyone,

I hope you're well.

When I look at my transactions it look like my sales are recorded twice:
1. When I have recorded a payment on my invoices this reflects in my transactions
2. Payments for the same invoices are imported from my bank statement

Does this mean my accounting will show that I have double the income that I do? How do I handle this?

Hi, @Sarahc.

I'll start by saying that we're looking into ways of handling this automatically. We know that matching those transactions is extra work, but as it stands now, you have two options.

1. You can merge the duplicate transactions by selecting both of them on the Transactions page and hitting the "Merge" button. This will combine the two transactions into one.
2. Don't record your payments on the invoices page. Instead, wait for the payment to be uploaded from your bank transaction. When it does, categorize it as "Payment for an invoice in Wave". Match it to the right invoice and Wave will mark that invoice as paid.
