Receipt scanner and HST

Does anyone know if there is a way to set the receipt scanner to recognize and populate automatically?
I see there is an option to add hst after you scan the receipt, but even once you select hst, it doesn't populate it.
I have to open every transaction and enter it manually.

Why have a scanner at all if you have to enter all the details anyway?
