Partial Payment on Invoice with Multiple Items

If you receive a partial payment on an invoice with multiple items (where the items are linked to different GL accounts), can you specify which items of the invoice have been paid? By default the system seems to split the amount paid proportionally over all items.

Hi @Rich ,

You can create a journal transaction to assign the payment into the invoice accounts of your choice. The system is designed to evenly distribute the payments across the income account. When you receive full payment on the invoice, you can then go back and delete the journal transaction, or create a new journal transaction for each payment you receive to apply to the accounts you wish.

Can you turn that feature off? That does not make since to split the payment across the income accounts and then do a journal entry. that is extra work.
