Recurring Invoice and One-time Setup

My service offering includes a one-time setup that will be billed on the first invoice. What is the best way to create this? I'm thinking, create first invoice inclusive of setup fee. Then duplicate the invoice and edit to remove the setup fee and make recurring. Also, I would presume that if I use charge a card on the first invoice, the card details would be preserved for the customer's recurring invoices. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @davidpg. Yeah! You have it almost exactly right.
The only caveat is that you can't turn a draft or duplicate for a regular invoice into a recurring invoice, so you'll have to set up the recurring invoice manually. You can absolutely save your client's credit card information to their profile. You can even set up your recurring invoices so they process credit card payments automatically on the invoice's due date, further automating the whole process.
