Customer refund

According to the Q&A, we need to click on Sale/Payment to select a payment recieved from a client / refund... in my case when i click on Sale / Payment, it does not give me a list of payments. My client did pay by credit card directly online through Wave and my email confirmation shows the payment. I need to refund this customer. Can anyone help?
