Is Wave payment processing similar to Paypal?

Wave is processing/verifying the card etc and I am simply transferring the funds to my account? So my bank doesn't need to be involved what so ever?

@sunsetstorage You will need to have a bank account setup in Wave (under Settings > Payouts or during the payment onboarding process) in order for the funds to be directly deposited into your account. In terms of the transferring of funds, your bank is involved in the background, as we need to get the funds to you somehow by knowing that bank account information.
