Employee Access to Their monthly pay stub

snakestudsnakestud Member Posts: 1

I am new to Wave payroll. I would like to have my employees access to their paystubs. How do I do this? Do they need a wave account? What if they do not want one? Is there a way for me to print their paystub myself?

Hi @snakestud! Thanks for reaching out and welcome to Payroll by Wave! There are a couple of options here. The first being you can send an email invite to your employees so they can view their pay stubs online. This is a great option as employees can login to their account at any time to view paystubs, update personal details and view any tax forms issued by you. Take a look at this Wave guide to see how to do this: Inviting your employees to access their pay stubs in Wave. If they do not want to set up a Wave account, you can manually download and print paystubs after you have approved and run a Payroll (under 'Approved Payrolls').

Hi, I'm an employee of my own company. I have a separate "employee" payroll account, but when I checked my pay stubs it said there weren't any. I'm logged in and registered. I had to print them out manually from my business account. How do I fix this? Thank you.

    Hey there @legaldiva

Just wondering what steps you've taken here to add yourself as an employee. Typically when you head to Payroll > Employee > Employment status, you'll be asked to invite an employee to Wave. This needs to be a different email from the owner's email. So if you're paying yourself, create a secondary email to add as an employee.

Log into that secondary email, and follow the steps to onboard yourself as an employee. You should then be able to see your paystubs when you log into your secondary Wave account email under the personal section.

    Hopefully this works out!

Thank you for the update. I did that last year. It shows I'm active.
There are pay stubs on the corporate side, but nothing for me personally
    on the employee side.

Hi @legaldiva . Can you check under your employee account to ensure that the email is set up correctly? If not, can you resend yourself the email and accept the invitation to view your paystubs?

It is possible to have an active employee who hasn't actually accepted the email to view them, so this may be the issue you're facing.

    Hey there @T1_GRD

In these cases I'd recommend selecting the help button at the bottom of your account to chat with a specialist if you have an active payroll account. They will collect the necessary info from you like the employee name and email and can help you reset it!
