problem trying to change primary email adress

Hi there..
When I try to change my primary email by adding another I get this message:
This email address is already associated with the wave account... but I only have one visible email and cant find where the one I want to ad is listed

    Hi @Janine . This would mean that your email address was used to create another Wave account. You'll have to close this account first before you can apply it to your pre-existing one. If you can't remember the password to your other account with the associated email, feel free to reset the password here.

    When this is done, you can use instructions in the Help Center article here to close your Wave account so you can use the email on your functioning account.
