Changing product categories

Hello, I need to change my expense categories and want to double check the following:
when I re-assign my products to a new category, does this change affect all past entries as well, or only those which I change going forward?
In other words, would I need to creat new products with the new category if I do not want categories for old bills to change?
And if I were to delete the old products, what happens to the old entries?

    Hey there @NicoleV

    You're correct when you say creating a new category will not retroactively change all of your invoices/bills. What you'll have to do is remove the product on your bill/invoice, then re-add it in order for the new account to be activated. You can also likely move these amounts with a simple journal transaction from your transactions page. So if you created a new product or service, let's say "glow sticks 2" and assigned that to your new account moving forward. You can move the funds from "glow sticks 1" to "glow sticks 2" that way.
