Professional Income no Invoice needed

I am new to wave. In my business, clients pay at the time of they see me for therapy. I first tried simply to change my settings and change the INVOICE to RECEIPT. Then I realize I should probably flow with the wave set up and do the 2 step Invoice and then acknowledge payment and follow up with receipt. Even though I do not need an invoice but only a receipt of proof of payment, should I follow the 2 step INVOICE, then RECEIPT?

    Hey there @ChantalC

    Sounds like you're hoping to just generate receipts for your clients who pay, much like a POS register. Unfortunately Wave is an accounting and invoicing software, so you'll need to create the invoice to generate the proper details on the receipt once you send it to them. You can skip actually sending the invoice to them, and mark the invoice as paid then just send them the receipt if you like!
