Expense Account as Assets

I buy ingredients in bulk and sell them in small amounts or as part of a blended product so I have ingredients set up as an Asset because they then become a stock item. When I buy a bulk item and it asks for expense account one of the options it gives me is an asset called Ingredients. One product does not give me that option and I have no idea why. It means I cannot purchase that item on Wave.....
