Sales tax collected is a liability. Remitting this sales tax decreases the liability. If you remit more than required or pay a sales tax security deposit (required in Canada) your liability account is negative. A negative liability account however looks incorrect on balance sheet. I don’t see how I creat my payments account send invoice my customer pays via ach then 7 days later my payment is successful and now all of a sudden my account is at risk. My business checking account and business credit card are both linked to Wave. When I pay the balance on my business credit card from my business checking account this transaction is Uncategorized. What category should this be? Should it be the drop down category: “Transfer to Bank, Credit Card, or Loan”? Thanks

We are a small non-profit co-op and have 2 GIC's as investments and when they come due the interest automatically gets rolled into them. Our problem is how do we record the interest.
